Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Arusha to Lake Manyara

Have breakfast today and after drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, arrive in time for lunch and after proceed for a game drive with in the park where you will view many animals including; the zebras, giraffes, birds, hippos, etc. later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Have a full day game viewing

Have breakfast at the lodge and after you will proceed for an early morning game drive where you will get chance to view many animals including; lions, hippos, impalas, leopards, elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, dik-dik, baboons as well as the monkeys. The bird species here include; cormorants, pelicans, flamingos, storks and many more. Have your lunch and after go for the cultural tour or a canoeing tour or a community walk.

Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater

Have breakfast and after drive to Ngorongoro crater, after arriving, have lunch and after for an afternoon game drive with in the crater for a game drive. This park is a world heritage site and is located in Ngorongoro district and it holds the world’s largest volcanic caldera that lies within the conservation Area. This park was formally part of the Serengeti National Park and its home to over 500 bird species, 25,000 large mammals that live within the montane forest, bush land, grassland, bussei trees, woodland, open grassland, Ngoitokitok spring, Lerai stream, Munge stream, and many other small springs that surround the crater floor. Immediately after the game drive, you will drive and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

 Day 4: Have a full day game viewing

After enjoying your breakfast, you will proceed for a full day game drive and get a chance to spot some of the animals found in this park including; cheetah, lions, hippos, Black Rhinos, wildebeests, zebras, eland, giant Gazelles, elephants, leopards, buffalos, reedbuck, waterbuck, hartebeest, warthogs, hyenas, baboons, jackals and the vervet monkeys. You will also spot some birds during the game drive including the bizaire secretary, black bustards, ostrich, kori bustard, secreatry birds, marabou strck, crowned crane, love birds, martial eagle, bustards, and the famous plovers. Day 6 & 7: full day game viewing in Serengeti

Enjoy an early morning game drive so as to see the nocturnal animals returning from hunting as well as the lions awaking in the dawn. You will view many animals during the game drive including; the eland, elepahnts, buffalos, Kongoni, topi, lions, zebras, solitary leopards, solitary leopards, cheetahs, Hyenas, aardwolf, Gaudy agama lizards, rock Hyraxes, black Rhinoceros, waterbuck, baboon, African dog, serval cat as well as the Kongonis. Day 8: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Have breakfast and after drive to Tarangire National Park which is home to over 500 bird species and many other animals that live within the acacia and the mixed land vegetation, old palm, baobab trees, dense bush, baobab trees and the high grasses. Immediately on your arrival, you will have a game drive were you will view may animals including; the elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, eland, lesser Kudu, waterbuck, cheetahs, gazelles Rhinos, leopards, impalas, hartebeest as well as the giant pythons and the tree climbing lions. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania

On your arrival at Kilimanjaro international Airport, you will be welcomed by our company guide who will brief you about the whole safari. From here, you will drive for 1 hour and arrive to Iiboru Safari Lodge in Arusha

Day 2:  Transfer to Tarangire National Park

The guide will drive you from Arusha to Tarangire national Park, he will show you the whole beauty of this country as you travel. The journey is about 3 hours and along the way, you will pass through the Masai steppes, masai villages, and the Masai herding their cattle. The park is also famous for 550 different bird species that cannot be found in any other African country.

The park land scape is so diverse filled with Baobab studded plains and the green marshes. There is also Tarangire River that was named after the park and also provides water to the many animals found within the park. In the dry season, the river becomes a mud stream and totally goes away, the elephants usually dig holes within the riverbed as they look for the underground streams. The other animals in the park enjoy a drink from these holes made by the elephants. And in the rainy season, this river grows to a thundering river depending on the amount of rains received. You will enjoy a picnic lunch with lunch boxes that are carried from the lodge. Later in the afternoon, transfer to the lodge for the Evening.

 Day 3: Explore Tarangire National Park

Very early in the morning, you will go for another game drive in the park to search for more wild animals, the park is mainly known for elephants, herds of buffalos, impalas, gazelles, zebras, and the wildebeests. There are also many colorful love birds called the hornbills and the little rock hyrax etc. Enjoy your lunch at the lodge and after you go for a botanical walk in the vicinity of the lodge with the masai guide. Tanzania national parks are not fenced and the animals are free to wonder off from one place to another.

After, the guide will drive you to the Great Rift Valley escarpments were you will view lake manyara and the Masai steppe. You will after proceed to Rhotia valley tented lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Ngorongoro crater

On this day, the guide will take you to one of the most special places in this word; the Ngorongoro crater. This crater has the largest caldera in the whole world, here you have the best beautiful views from the crater rim. This crater is also non-reactive volcano and reaching the floor of the crater, one needs to make a descent. The crater has got diversity of animals and flora, you can get chance to view the big five here. These include; the buffalos, leopards, Black Rhinos, lion and the elephants. There is Lake Magadi which is an alkaline lake within the crater and it has flamingos, while the hippos cool down in the sweet pools after grazing at night. There is also the Lerai forest, where the elephants with giant tusks pull the leaves and the branches from the trees as the wildebeests, antelopes, zebras are grazing. The lions here look for shade to take a rest. The many animals and the beautiful land scape in the crater make a day in the park an overwhelming adventure.

After, leave the crater and proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Have breakfast and after start descend into the plains where you will have a game drive and encounter with the animals. You will also have a chance to come face to face with the Masai as you pass their villages and also watch their cattle within the conservation Area.

The name Serengeti was also derived from the Maasai word called Siringiti meaning endless plains. As you enter the Serengeti, it becomes clearer as its fitting name. The park has the great Migration of great animals including; the zebras and the wildebeests in search for grazing and water and they participate in one of the largest annual movement on earth.

This park has got more to offer than the great migration, there are large herds of buffalos, antelopes, topis, hartebeests, thomson grant gazelles, as well as the tree climbing lions. The open plains also form an ideal hunting ground for the fastest animals on earth; the earth. Later in the evening, arrive at the park and check in at the lodge.

Day 6: Explore Serengeti National Park

You will wake up early in morning, enjoy breakfast as you are surrounded with the sounds of Serengeti. You will go for a walking safari where you will view many animals including the hyena’s lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and many birds. You might also get a chance to view the annual migration that takes place within the park. Have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, the guide will take you back to view more wildlife.

The guide will take you in search for the great migration of lions, leopards and the cheetah. The other animals to be viewed include; the monkeys, hippos, Giraffes that move elegantly over the plains, hyenas as well as many bird species. Later in the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

This day, you will have to say good bye to this beautiful park after doing a game drive in Nabi gate to view some more animals. Have a picnic lunch and after drive through the Ngorongoro conservation Area to the lodge where you will wash up and relax for the evening.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Manyara national park

Have breakfast and after start your transfer to Lake Manyara National Park that is situated at the foot hills of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, you will view the lake as you drive towards the park.  The park is famous for its tree climbing lions, the large flamingo population, the many different monkey species like the baboons, sykes, vervet monkeys, and the olive monkeys can be found in the forest park. There are also many other animals that can be located in the park including; buffalos, elephants, Giraffes, eland, and many bird species. In the afternoon, you will drive to Arusha for an overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Zanzibar

This is the day for you to complete your safari, you will be taken to the airport for you to catch your international flight back home. The other option might be to wonder around the beautiful beaches of Zanzibar to enjoy the sea and the sun.
